NASHVILLE, TN, September 2025 — The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) has awarded Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Dr. Luc G. Corriveau of Androscoggin Valley Hospital the designation of Fellow of the AANA (FAANA) – a recognized hallmark of leadership and outstanding achievements in the profession and science of nurse anesthesiology.
Dr. Corriveau, an AANA member since 2014, earned this distinguished designation by demonstrating an exceptional level of expertise, service, and commitment to transforming the nurse anesthesia profession.
Dr. Corriveau is a CRNA and Chief Nurse Anesthetist at Androscoggin Valley Hospital, where he has worked since 2018. He has been practicing as a CRNA for over 10 years. In addition to his leadership role in rural healthcare, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona, where he mentors and teaches future nurse anesthesiologists. Dr. Corriveau is also the author of several books focusing on applied mathematics for anesthesiology and healthcare professionals, as well as leadership. His writing and advocacy emphasize patient safety, workforce development, and improving access to anesthesia services in underserved communities.
The FAANA designation is the organization’s most elite professional achievement. By earning the right to include this designation among their credentials, Fellows have demonstrated a high level of commitment to the growth and advancement of nurse anesthesiology.

A CRNA for more than 10 years, Dr. Corriveau earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (2016), and his Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of New England in Portland, Maine (2014). He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire (2011), and an Associate of Science in Nursing from White Mountains Community College in Berlin, New Hampshire (2009). In addition, Dr. Corriveau completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of the People in Pasadena, California (2022), strengthening his leadership and administrative expertise in healthcare.
This year, 40 individuals were inducted to the 2025 class of Fellows of the AANA. To date, only 272 CRNAs have received the FAANA designation. To be awarded the FAANA distinction, applicants must be credentialed as a CRNA for a minimum of 10 consecutive years; be an AANA member for at least 10 years; have a minimum of 10 years of full-time professional experience as a practitioner of anesthesiology or educator/program director, facility leader or business leader; have a record of attending AANA conferences; demonstrate outstanding achievements in nurse anesthesia and leadership that command respect and recognition from other leaders in the profession; and provide evidence of enduring and substantial professional achievement that demonstrates professional and personal growth and use of innovative, creative solutions in at least one of several categories.
